Generally if you’re buying an animal, the vendor will supply you with the bag or plastic container so don’t worry about that. If you’re buying food (frozen rodents?) then sometimes they have bags, sometimes they run out, or sometimes the bags they have aren’t big enough for your order so you might want to have a couple bags (like the reusable shopping bags from grocery stores, or a backpack) to take the food out to the car.
I wouldn’t recommend walking in with a backpack unless you’re going directly to the vendor you’re buying the food/supplies from. Lots of people have had animals stolen right off their display tables, so I would personally avoid the suspicion of carrying around a big empty backpack.
Pretty much every expo has frozen food and most have live food. The prices are higher than they would be online, but cheaper than buying from petco or petsmart. If you’re only buying food for a couple animals, then an expo is the best place to buy food (shipping and handling fees online are pretty high if you’re not buying a huge quantity). Also, don’t get let down if you don’t find what you’re looking for. This is the time of year when almost all the babies from last year have been sold so ‘the pickings are slim’. There will be a flood of new babies in the fall, and that’s the best time to see a really good selection of what’s available in your area.
Hope this helps~

a reptile expo would generally call for a reptile pet to bring. If you do not have one, you can have something like a book about reptiles.
